Fitzgerald? Whats your take Vogs? I personally think that he has known about the hazing since his playing days. However, I hated to see him take the heat for something that sure sounds like it was a tradition. What is killing him is that he looked the other way, rather than try to put an end to it. I'm an old school guy, so this doesn't make me all squeamish and uncomfortable, but this also isn't my freshman year and I'm not all wired to need "loved up" because someone was mean , disrespectful or sexually demeaning to me. Could be that I joined a frat in my college days and completely understand what it's like to receive my tasks in "re-socialization" and don't feel that I am any worse for it. It's just a different time and it cost Fitzgerald his job. I think he lands on his feet somewhere big as as assistant and will be just fine.

I know it’s the first full weekend of the March madness, but tonight the NCAA wrestling semifinals are on and just in the first two weights at 125 pounds and 133 pounds there were two huge major upsets. The semi finals this year have already provided as much as entertainment as the entire final program did last year at 125. The longest winning streak in the nation ended in the semi finals as the fourth seed from Purdue upset Spencer Lee, the number 1 seed from Iowa in a pin in the last 10 seconds of the match. At 133, number two seed Daton Fix got upset as well, and the number one seed, Roman Bravo-Young was a near upset winning in Sudden Victory overtime. Absolutely amazing…

WWE isn’t garbage, but I agree to your statement about time and effort high school and college wrestlers put in. Those who "wrestle" in the WWE MUST belong to the Actors Guild, the same union the actors in hollywood belong to. Those who participate in MMA do not. I really shouldn’t have called it garbage. I have a kid who wrestled for me many years ago and is now out of college, where he was an all American in NAIA wrestling, who is now wrestling in a local "wrestling entertainment" group in the Kansas City area. I’ve watched a bunch of his videos and he’s very good and he’s no taller than about 5 ‘8”. He’s actually kind of a terror in the ring and fun to watch, and most recently their Light Heavyweight division belt wearing Champ. I attribute a lot of credibility in what he learned as an actual wrestler on the mat. However, at the end of the day, I have much more respect for the actual time spent wrestling competitively, than wrestling for entertainment. It’s two different animals. He was a state runner up here in Michigan who upset the state champ in regional finals and one of the damn nicest kids ever.

What kind of moves did he do to win? RKO? Chair to the head? Jump off the top rope? Lol. It's honestly a little bit sad that really good college wrestlers only have the Olympics (wrestling freestyle or Greco) or some garbage like the WWE entertainment as an option post-NCAA or post-NAIA. The amount of time and effort invested in the sport with little financial reward makes it difficult to understand sometimes, however I believe now as I always have..... wrestlers are wired just a little different than other athletes. The amount of time, blood, sweat and tears invested is second to no other sport and the reward in this sport is first and formost internal.... no one else is on that mat when you are getting your *** kicked, and there's no one to save you in a match. The physicality alone makes it intimidating as a sport. The idea that you can take another person to the ground, and control them in order to pin them to the mat thereby removing their ability to stop you, makes it the ultimate combat sprot in my book. The only thing even remotely close is MMA, which wrestlers are normally very good at. It's also a team sport, but more importantly an individual sport first. You can be the worst wrestler on your team, and have a losing record, but still be a national champion if you are on the right team at the right time.
I can go on, but it would bore those who have never donned a singlet or wrestling shoes or headgear and stepped on that mat to face the ultimate physical challenge...

In other OSU news, the women’s team beat Xichigan for the third time this season in the B1G tourney and upset #1 Indiana today to make tomorrow’s finale vs likely winner and #2 seed Iowa. I was just surprised that they upset Indiana since IU took them out in both games this season. Thought maybe it was news you hoops guru’s might want to read. The finale is tomorrow at 5:00 pm ET on the B1G network, followed by the wrestling championships being held at scUM’s Chrysler Arena…

I don’t pay much attention to the NFL anymore, but the “Pro Bowl Games”? Pro bowl players had a good season so the reward is for the fans to watch you play flag football?? And people in the stands payed for this garbage??? I don’t think so.
NFL??? Go away…

So Georgia hammers Tennessee, but at the half in the evening games…
Michigan down to Rutgers 17-14 Clemson down to ND by 14-0 Bama down to LSU 7-6
Gotta love college football…
On a separate note, referees in between the teams in the tunnel… Good lord.. take off your skirts and get it done on the field you bunch of panty waists. The idea that MSU was so out of line a week ago and now the scUM and Rutgers need a referee separation wall? Act like men and not thugs!

I check in with the live cam, overlooking the historic Naples pier almost daily. It's an active camera, so you can zoom and then pan L/R a little bit. As most of you must know, she took a helluva hit, but contrary to initial reports, she's still standing. The snack bar and and bait shop at the end of the 1,000 ft. long pier had the walls blown out and the storm surge carved out a large pool area from the beach. The camera is not low light sensitive, so there is no lighting after sunset, but some stunning sunsets over the Gulf. naplespanorama.org/Pretty cool cam...

I saw the best post on FB just the other day.... the price of gas has dropped about 25 cents or so and they were making fun about how happy we all were that the price was dropping, when in fact the price is still almost $2 per gallon high than it was two years ago. That one kind of hit me in the face, because I just filled up last night at $3.71 a gallon and was happy that it wasn't $4.99.... they got me...

I've seen it posted several times now...obviously most frequently on FB, but if it's true, then we really aren't much of a midwest conference anymore. OSU and USC every fall...how much fun would that be??
STUPID to call it the Big Ten now. How about THE CCC. Anyone want to guess why CCC? Two weeks later, but I'll bite. Why the CCC?

Aaaah hell, come to Michigan. We are anywhere from $4.81 to $5.19 in the SE corner counties (Monroe, Washtenaw and Wayne.) Our governor, rather than removing the state sales tax or fuel tax, would rather ***** about it and push the blame towards the federal government and wants them to remove their fuel tax. She is the same numb nut who ran on a "Fix the damn roads" agenda, but didn't give two poops about it until it was re-election time (so we have had projects going full blast for the past few months, but had little to nothing prior.) Earlier in her term, as she was realizing she better deliver on the "fix the damn roads" promise, she tried to jack up the fuel tax by 45 cents a gallon to fund it, although there was no mention of new taxes to pay for it during the campaign. Her constituents blew a left testicle and she backed off... Add to this some of her other political flukes and hopefully she is outta here next election. During the height of COVID, and a state travel lockdown, she sent her husband north to the Traverse City area, to get their boat out of drydock and to get it ready for the summer... You should have heard the constituents go off on that one, once the local folks found out what he was up to. At one point, we thought Biden was going to take her as his running mate, but I think one of the Democratic higher ups realized she was a bigger liability than her femaleness was worth (yes-I'm saying her political value was her gender.) Sorry, I am rambling on, but there are days that she or one of her staff gets on the news and all I can do is shake my head and try to protect my wallet. Living in Michigan is on you

don't forget private jets, cough ahem!, John Kerry Last Tuesday, Michigan U.S. Senator Stabenow said during a Senate hearing, "I just have to say just on the issue of that at gas prices; after waiting for a long time to have enough chips in this country to finally get my electric vehicle, I got it and drove it from Michigan to here this last weekend and went by every single gas station. It didn’t matter how high it was." Well, she bought an $80,000 EV like Biden says you should, but can the average Michigan family do the same right now? This is not the first time this numb nut has had some degree of idiocy to share. Lifer politician with nary a clue...

Gas prices? "I did that" is infamous I am admittedly a fan of that little ditty... My preferred station in Monroe gets the president pasted on the screen and scrapes them off. Within a day or two, he reappears only to be scraped off again. It's an exercise in futility, albeit a fun one...

Carter administration? How many people on here are even old enough to remember that, let alone born then? Buckeye2B raises his hand....
Damn, you are calling a guy old....
However, I did get my answer and more long term rhetoric about what has happened to the price of fuel. I get the long term pic, but it's the nuts and bolts in the short term that I was trying to understand. I just needed to know what shortage was happening and why it was pushing the price up so fast and hard. I buy close to 1000 gallons of diesel every week for my school buses, so I am familiar with the pricing, but just wanted to see who was poking the bear currently to keep that price at a max.
