It wasn't that GT was necessarily better than BV, it was just that the Tigers made less mistakes........at least it seemed that way to me. Just another win against a team that's not good. I'll obviously take it but I would like to beat a decent team at some point. IMO the coach needs to go after this season. We're actually not playing any better this season, the competition was just much worse this year. I said the same thing about NU. There are 4 seniors and 2 junors (on JV) that should be playing but allows poor decisions and selfish play to occur. Even in victory, which have only been over not so great of teams, is sloppy and ugly. In dominated losses, the weak and lame excuse is that it is a young team. Next year there will not be a quality post on the floor and will still have 3-4 that play for themselves; the excuse next year is that is a tough CBC league and hide the lack of discipline, preparation, or team play. Two more years...

BV beats NU 52-49 on a 3 with :04 left The BV kid was hitting them all night. Interesting ploy deciding not to defend him for the wide open 3.

NU loses by 17. The only thing that had a sense of offense was throwing up garbage shots for put backs. With all of the griping, I was expecting an early second half technical call that never came. Nothing surprised me tonight, heard a lot of chatter afterwards about what people will need to expect more of the same for at least two more years.

Standings are what would be expected, Clear Fork and Pleasant the top of the conference and then a good Ontario team. The rest of the teams have the ability to beat each other.

Ontario is decent but Clear Fork and Pleasant I believe are stronger teams this year. I’ve stated before NU doesn’t play with inspiration and take numerous poor shot selection and do not take care of the ball; it certainly doesn’t appear that they are coached anyway and my money is on the opposition in a close ball game.
The second times around you will see if profess is made. First game against Clear Fork was close and then blown out the second time due to adorementioned turnovers and bad decisions; a PG is supposed to take care of the ball and distribute and that doesn’t happen. The first time against Ontario was a close game and last night NU had a 4 point lead at halftime but I knew that halftime adjustments would be made by Ontario and they did.
If I were parents in JR High or Freshman, I would take a close look at this and realize transfer might be the way to go.

NU 78 BV 57 Final Did the Seniors play more or are the underclassmen taking advantage of their opportunity?
Yes and no. BV, NU and RV have similar issues at the coaching level. BV had most of their seniors quit before th start of the season and RV has lost three seniors this week. The league is well aware of the horrific antics of the NU coach. All three programs have the same issues - they have large freshman classes coming into the high school and rarely many play through as seniors. It is a good indicator of the health program and no surprise that all three are at the bottom of the conference.
NU main issues are selfish play and no leadership to coach, teach or encourage players. One particular player consistently lacks judgement and decision making and struggles even against BV backups in the closing minutes. The entire crowd grumbles and knows that he should be playing JV instead of the point guard. Opponents have demonstrated outrage of the player’s behavior and once explained it is the coach’s kid they understand the lack of discipline or maturity being demonstrated.
NU can beat the Delaware Christians and bottom teams of the MOAC and that will be it. Likely bow out of the tournament in the first round.

Final Ontario 71 Galion 61. Luckily Alsip had an off night with 13. Ontario's freshman Giffin Shaver held him to 2 in the 1st half. Alsip did a nice job of sharing the ball with his teammates when closely guarded. A lot of Galion players made 3-pointers, to keep it close. Shaver also in double figures for the second game in a row. IMO he's playing better than the Junior starter at PG. Still way to many turnovers by the young players. Ontario 69-38 in JV game. Freshman Colton Kurtz with 26 in 3 quarters of play. He's made 11 of 15 3-pointers in the last 2 games. The score I read was 67-57. Which one is right?
