FAU will never be an elite program unless Kiffin goes Kiffin and starts up the illegal recruiting charades, which will more than likely happen again.

Kiffin taking the Florida Atlantic job has me scratching my head. In his rhetorical press release as the new head coach, he stated his "goal is to make FAU an elite football program".....really? The Holiday Bowl is in complete state of confusion and a complete disaster at this point. With the Gopher players threatening a game boycott, advance ticket sales have to be slowed to a trickle. If the game somehow gets played, it will be in front an eery spector of empty seats. What if the players carry out there threat, does Minnesota get a forfeit defeat assigned to them? Or is the game simply cancelled? Did anyone else have the same level of disgust as I did, after viewing the recently released video of Oklahoma RB Joe Mixon punching out a young woman?

I'm surprised the Saban/Kiffin marriage lasted as long as it did. For Kiffin to select FAU, he must have been desperate to get out of Birmingham. I agree, an opportunity for 'creative' recruiting.

Agree, FAU isn't anywhere on the radar. The NCAA won't be looking his way EVER, until he starts buying kids hookers, cars, coke, etc and all of a sudden FAU is starting to beat ranked teams.

If he lived in Birmingham that's a good hour drive every day to work (Tuscaloosa). I'd probably look to move as well

UAB isn't really a branch campus as it is autonomous under the state university system. It is a highly respected research university that enrolls about 18,000 and covers 83 city blocks in downtown Birmingham. Sportswise they are pretty weak.
