Francona made an interesting decision putting Santana in the leadoff spot tonight, and it worked out great as he lead off the game with a homer off Verlander.
Byrd also homered, and the Tribe got back to .500 with a 2-1 win at Detroit.

Nice 10-1 win yesterday
Although in not so great news, Carrasco just had to be removed from today's game after injuring himself on a play at first. Bauer takes over in long relief, and probably in this spot in the rotation for a while.

Leave it to the Indians to sweep the Tigers and then lay a Wet Fart vs the crappy Minnesota Twins.
Also, Napoli is PUKE. 10ks in his last 4 games.

he is an Adam Dunn type, but i'll take 25 HR and 85 RBI, it's better than what we had so in that respect his performance is relative

and now 2 straight walk off losses to MIN
this one courtesy of the classic "closer in a non-save situation" blunder.....and on the freaking road to boot, so that even if it had worked you still would have had to either have your closer go out for a 2nd inning or put in a non-closer in a save situation

Swept in Philadelphia, with one of the losses coming off yet another closer in a non save situation

2 sweeps of Detroit mixed in with these disappointing series against SEA, MIN & PHI. Too bad we can't play the Tigers every night, becasue we apparently have their number this year.
Should be interesting to see how our first series with the defending world champs goes this weekend

Tribe continues to be competitive with the better teams and lose series to terrible teams. Very maddening pattern. You have to beat-up on the little guys and play even with the big boys to have a shot. It's early, but Brantley's injury is very disturbing and Ramierez being out and on the DL seems to have really hurt this team. And Kluber? Who knows, he's hard to figure.

Davis and Lindor tee off on the Reds terrible bullpen to give the Tribe a comeback win in extras. With the win the Indians have won this thing outright: So far neither team has ever swept the Battle of Ohio season series, and tonight Indians will be trying to become the first to do it.

2 1/2 games out of first which isn't bad at this point in the year and considering their record against the Twins.

Pretty excited for the future of Mike Clevinger when he becomes a part of the rotation. Indians rotation is set for a long time.
Building around the pitching and guys like Yan Gomes and Frankie with the likes of Brad Zimmer, Clint Frazier and Bobby Bradley. Going to be a nice future very soon.

Great to see the Tribe take full advantage of these 4 games against the hapless Reds. Now on to a pair of tough road series against the Sox and Sox.

4-3 on the trip to Boston and Chicago has the Tribe at 5 games over .500 and 1/2 game back of first.

Great week in Chicago. Rain enabled the Sox to stay ahead of us or we could be tied right now.

If anyone has the payroll difference between the first place Tribe and 4th place Tigers that may be interesting.

If anyone has the payroll difference between the first place Tribe and 4th place Tigers that may be interesting. Well, as of right now it's the 2nd place Tribe....but anyway, according to ESPN: Cleveland total salary: $83,746,766 (26th in MLB) Detroit total salary: $173,306,250 (3rd in MLB)

Marlon Byrd suspended for 162 games due to testing positive for PEDs.
Meanwhile the Tribe are trying to avoid getting swept by Texas.

Gomes with a walkoff single! First walkoff for the Indians this year, salvaging the final game of the series and starting the month of June off right

Carassco comes back tonight to start, hopefully he can get the starters back in line and maybe some of the changes in the bullpen can get them steady as well.

Back in first place by a half game after taking the first 3 from KC. Naquin was called up to replace Byrd and has responded by hitting his first two major league homers in this series.

Break out the brooms, its a 4 game sweep of the defending world champs! Quite an ***-kicking too, one comeback walkoff followed by 5, 6 and 7 run blowouts. And Naquin went deep today for the 3rd straight game, this time hitting the mezzanine deck, which is quite a feat given that the 2015 renovation cut that deck in half. Lindor and Napoli were great this series as well.
So now Cleveland has a 1.5 lead in the central, and continues to play well against division opponents (with the exception of those world beaters from Minnesota). Next up is a 10 game road trip to Seattle, Anaheim and K.C.
