Difficult trip coming up though starting in Seattle. I hate the 10pm starts, hard to keep track of the games when they are out West.
There was supposed to be a move tonight after the game to bring Chamberlin back, anyone hear who got moved down?

Marlon Byrd suspended for 162 games due to testing positive for PEDs. Being a lifelong Indians fan, watching this years team come together and producing like they have, with a lineup of no-names is amazing. 162 game suspension seems quite severe, essentially suspended for an entire season. I would assume this is not his first positive test for PED's. Is there an appeal in place? Go Tribe!

I would assume this is not his first positive test for PED's. Is there an appeal in place? Yes, he previously had a 50 game suspension back in 2012: espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/8095053/outfielder-marlon-byrd-tests-positive-peds-gets-suspensionFrom the Talk with the manager the next day on the Tribe pregame Byrd cleaned out his locker and told Francona that his career was over. I'd guess the player's association would have him appeal, but from what Francona said it sounds like he admitted to doing it and accepted the consequences.

Chamberlin move was delayed due to the Salazar issue. Sounds like Anderson is coming up to make a start and then going back down after the game for the Chamberlin move.

So last night Yan Gomes was diagnosed after the game (was pulled in the 2nd after being hit by a foul ball) with a testicular contusion. Just sounds painful doesn't it?
Also a note on the Tribe from mlbtraderumors.com:
Indians president of baseball operations Chris Antonetti joined ESPN’s Buster Olney on his podcast on Tuesday and discussed a number of topics, including the recent suspension of Marlon Byrd, the breakout of super utilityman Jose Ramirez, Michael Brantley’s shoulder rehab, the upcoming amateur draft and the club’s financial flexibility as the trade deadline approaches. “I don’t expect that we’ll be limited,” said Antonetti. “In fact, the years in which we’ve been in contention, ownership’s always been great about providing us the resources that we would need to improve the team. I think that we’ll still always have to be cognizant of contracts that we take on, but if there’s the right player out there on the right deal, and the talent return is the right value for us, then I’m confident we’ll be able to improve the team.” Many expect Cleveland to be on the hunt for outfield help with Byrd and Abraham Almonte suspended due to failed PED tests and Brantley’s return still undetermined.

2-2 split at Seattle and now a 3 game lead for first. Naquin with another home run last night, which proved to be the game winner. Allen with another kardiac save, which I'm glad happened long after I was in bed.

2 of 3 from the Angels at Anaheim, nice to see as that's typically a tough venue for the Tribe.

Chisenhall single-handily lost the game last night. Bases loaded in first and did his usual ground out then turns around and misplays a ball in the outfield that went for a triple that led to the run. cant have that bozo hitting and playing like that. still like the pitching though. still believe tribe absolutely needs outfield help as I seriously doubt we'll see Brantley again this season.

It started out as a decent road trip, but this flop in KC puts it at 4-6. Royals pull even with the Tribe atop the central.

From The Plain Dealer:
The Indians, with a chance to go into Thursday's off day with a two-game lead in the AL Central, are tied with Kansas City instead. This was the last stop on a 10-game trip and their 20th game in 20 days. Frankly, they played like they were sleep deprived.
"That doesn't matter," said Francona. "We have a day off tomorrow. When you've got a game, you play. We're not the first team to play 20 (in a row) and we won't be the last. We just didn't play a very good ballgame."
The Indians went 10-10 in those 20 games. Over the last 10, played at Safeco Field, Angel Stadium and Kauffman Stadium, they went 4-6. The offense, in particular, looked weary.
The Indians were outscored, 39-34, on the trip. They hit .177 (11-for-62) with runners in scoring position and .202 (66-for-327) as a team. They were fortunate to win four games.
The Tribe came to Kansas City with a three-game lead and a 6-1 advantage over the Royals. It was a chance to extend their lead. Instead they wilted before the defending World Series champs. In the KC series, they were 1 for 19 with RISP.
My own observation: Can't win major league games with a minor league outfield and third baseman and no CONSISTENT bats. Can't use the "I'm tired" excuse -- other teams have the same grind. Tito covers for his players, which is admirable, but much falls on the players who won't (or can't) step-up. Just My Opinion. Been around too many years and it's the same ole' thing.

I fear that Brantly has to become our third 1st baseman/DH.

Santana with a walk-off blast! Allen blew the save, but will now get a win.

Nice to see Tyler Naquin have such a great game. It's interesting to see how Jeckyll and Hyde this offense is, but when they're hot wow they're good. This team has some needs but the central is for the taking this year. Go Tribe!

Indians break out the brooms against Chicago. A blowout and 2 walk-offs make for a fun series.
Nice way to respond after the KC series.

A longball fueled comeback tonight keeps this win streak alive. Uribe has now homered in 3 straight games.

Make that 4 straight games with a Uribe homer, and now a record of 40-30
Upper Deck seats for tonight's game are $16

Back to back complete games from Kluber and Bauer. Timely hitting included, and should be a decent weekend playing in Detroit. Team isn't back in town until July 5th I think.

7th straight win capped off by one hell of a crazy double play where a bobble by Davis while making a great running catch fooled the runners into thinking he dropped it
Tribe also had 4 triples tonight, two of which were hit by Kipnis

A 6-0 shutout and at Detroit is unreal. I've seen too many Cleveland teams start out like this and go into a mid-season swoon at or around All-Star break. Don't think that's going to be the case this year.

4 homers off Verlander all in the 5th inning today, and now the Tribe have swept 3 straight series.
Also, an interesting thing the Cavs pointed out on twitter recently is that this current Indians road trip is against the same 3 cities the Cavs faced in the eastern conference playoffs, in the same order. Too bad the Tribe doesn't play Oakland after that.

Don't think that's going to be the case this year. Agree, the teams that swooned in the past were not based on the best starting pitching rotation in both leagues. It would be foolish to trade any of the 5 for a hitter, even for Miguel Cabrera. We've all witnessed what this staff has done to the scariest hitter in baseball. Good pitching beats good hitting.

You guys have seen too many Cleveland teams start like this? Seriously? The Indians I've watched over the years have sucked up to the all star break and then started playing well only to fall short at the end of the season. I'd like to know the last time the Tribe was 13-14 games above .500 at this point in the season.

Winning streak up to 11...first time the Indians have done that since 1982.
Tonight's win featured a double steal of 2nd and home, a solid outing by Kluber, several great defensive plays by Lindor, some clutch hitting in the 9th, and a shaky Allen save.

Allen seems to be "shaky" when his save situation is with a 3 run lead or when he pitches in a non-save situation. He gave up a home run and a triple on a ball that Davis would have caught. Naquin over ran the ball by about 4 feet. When asked, Francona said, "We're still working with him on those plays."?? Allen has 16 saves, 2 wins, 2 blown saves and 2 of the run's he's given up were unearned runs. Only the Yankee's bullpen has fewer blown saves.
