This will be the 5th time a Sheldon coached team will face an opponent for a third time in a season. They were swept by Wynford in his second year and returned the favor six years later.
2007/08 Wynford 0-3 53-61, 33-52, 21-31 in sectional final 2008/09 Bucyrus 3-0 40-26, 42-30, 38-32 in sectional final 2008/09 Wynford 2-1 44-52; 51-49; 48-36 in district final 2013/14 Wynford 3-0 82-41, 74-61, 64-41 in sectional final

Hope it is ok to ask this here. Is Yappi.com down or not working. For the last few days I've been unable to even find it online. Anyone else having this issue? I have no issues seeing it.

Has a team in the Lake gone undefeated in the conference since it was put together? Sandusky has a chance to do that on Friday. I'd be curious if any of the divisions have had an undefeated conference team champion. Lake has not had anyone make it through undefeated. www.crawfordcountybasketball.com/sanduskybayconference.html

Looking at the score with Pleasant beating Galion by double digits. The Booker still not playing? I believe he is out for rest of the season.

I just wanted to throw my two bits out here as well. I have found my uncle listed in the Upper teams from the late 1950’s and I turned him onto your site as well. What a massive undertaking but it’s really appreciated…. Thank you again!! I forgot I had this post out here. I should try and list some of the latest updates I’ve added the past couple of months.

Bucyrus is at least one of two schools in Proboards area to never have won more than 18 games in a Season. The other? My Alma mater Galion?

1964 was the last year of the County tournament. 112 teams was reduced to 34 Sectional teams and 16 teams made it to District.
1964 had several teams go directly to Sectionals or play a 1 game county tournament due to there only being 1 or 2 class a teams in the County. I forget what year "sectionals" actually started as there was a point county reps went right into a 16+ team District.

Looks like the numbers this movement gives the NWDAB a total of 159 teams for the boys district tournaments. 20 in D1, 33 in D2, 38 in D3 and 68 in D4. 60 years ago: If I counted correctly from the 1963/64 brackets I just put together. Class AA 84 teams - 3 District champs 3.5% Class A 112 teams - 4 District champs 3.5% If 2023/24 is 2/3/3/5 again Division I 10% Division II 9% Division III 8% Division IV 7% Statistically it is 2-3 times "easier" to win a District title today than 60 years ago.

A month has gone by since this thread was started and he hasn't commented. I'm concerned that something has happened. It's been a while since he has posted. I'm also concerned about what has happened. I didn't see an obituary for him on the News Journal site, so probably still alive at least...and no I wasn't searching for the name Willard Fillmore.

crawfordcountybasketball.com/nwdistrictindex.htmlLatest updates are combined sectional/district tournament brackets for the entire Northwest District going back to 1965/66. While working tournament scores, I've also added a sheet to track the last year of Northwest District schools that is complete back to the 1964/65. The "casualties" since 1964/65 (listed with by last graduating class): 1964/65 Alger, McGuffey and Roundhead consolidated into Upper Scioto Valley 1964/65 Buckland absorbed by Wapakoneta 1964/65 Chesterfield absorbed by Lyons (will consolidate into Evergreen) 1964/65 Florida absorbed by Napoleon 1964/65 Harrod and Lafayette consolidated into Allen East 1964/65 Townsend (Sandusky Co) absorbed by Margaretta 1965/66 Cridersville absorbed by Wapakoneta 1965/66 Fulton absorbed by Metamora (will consolidate into Evergreen) 1965/66 Westwood absorbed by Bowling Green 1966/67 Lyons and Metamora consolidated into Evergreen 1966/67 McClure absorbed by Napoleon 1967/68 Berlin Heights and Milan consolidated into Edison 1967/68 Elmore and Woodville consolidated into Woodmore 1967/68 Grand Rapids absorbed by Otsego 1967/68 Thompson absorbed by Bellevue 1967/68 York absorbed by Bellevue 1968/69 Bloomville absorbed by Tiffin City Schools 1968/69 Deshler, Hamler and Malinta consolidated into Patrick Henry 1968/69 Gomer absorbed by Elida 1968/69 Green Springs absorbed by Clyde (technically consolidate into Clyde-Green Springs district) 1968/69 Ridgeville absorbed by Archbold 1969/70 Attica and Republic consolidated into Seneca East 1970/71 Blue Creek, Grover Hill and Payne consolidated into Wayne Trace (may technically be the last true consolidation of a new school district in the area) 1970/71 Oakwood absorbed by Paulding 1971/72 Celina Immaculate Conception closed 1973/74 Wapakoneta St. Joseph closed 1975/76 Sylvania split into two high schools, Northview and Southview 1979/80 Spencer-Sharples closed by Toledo City Schools (Toledo City Schools absorbed the non-contiguous school district in 1967) 1987/88 Ohio City absorbed by Van Wert 1988/89 Malabar closed by Mansfield City Schools 1990/91 DeVilbiss closed by Toledo City Schools 1990/91 Macomber closed by Toledo City Schools 1991/92 Mendon-Union absorbed by Parkway 2009/10 Libbey closed by Toledo City Schools 2013/14 Bettsville absorbed by Old Fort 2016/17 Fostoria St. Wendelin closed

$20.23 (we started doing that years ago when our kids were seniors and we had LOTS of party invites) I like that nice round number. We had spit balled $20 but the extra .23 give a fun touch. Thank God she won't get invitations from all 600 of her classmates. LOL.

Wife and I were discussing this last night as we have a daughter who is a Senior. What is a reasonable amount to give to her friends as graduation gifts as our invitation list is sitting at 30 kids or so right now...on top of having to pay for our own party/open house.

Keith Diebler is a Colonel Crawford graduate. Do you by chance remember Joe Hord and Jim Shuck? They were before my time, but Hord ended up playing at North Florida Junior College and then at Cal State Bakersfield. After that he played in Portugal and Argentina scoring 30 ppg for Olivarria in 1979 or 1980. A TF article from 1980 mentions him scoring 64 and 63 in back-to-back games in that 30 ppg season, but I don't have anything after that story from May 7, 1980.

Cornerstone Christian won DIV title in 2016 and were runner-up in 2018. Those teams were led by Michael Bothwell who is scoring 18ppg for 27-7 Furman this year.

Wow ! That's kinda surprising, I was expecting OG to win. Is Taft a public school, Or have they been forgetting to put an Archbishop in front of their name, Just wonder'n. From Wikipedia: Taft Information Technology High School is a public high school located in the West End area of downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. It is part of the Cincinnati Public Schools district (CPS). The school was created in 1955 and named after former U.S. Senator Robert A. Taft, the son of former United States President William H. Taft. In the spring of 2011, a new $18 million building was constructed.

Stopped at Carsonie's Stromboli & Pizza in Westerville. Their sauce is very mild made the pizza a bit weak, but we really liked their original stromboli. The Italian sausage gave it a nice flavor. Would recommend this spot, try the stromboli. The salads looked good. Have never actually been there, even though the comic book and gaming stores I visit are in the same shopping center. Wife had asked the comic book store staff how it was one time (when we were trying to figure out where to eat) and they were like "it's alright"...not a glowing recommendation.
