Once again Willard posting inaccuracies. Seeds can go anywhere they want, do not have to be opposite brackets. Cmon man Thanks for the up date. SO, after the #1 seed places themselves in the bracket, the #2 seed could choose to play the #1 seed in the first game. A good strategy to PO the #1 seed. Just curious, since the rule was changed, has a #2 seed chosen to play in the same Sectional/bracket with the #1 seed? Upper's girls did it last year.

I believe your records and quick write up on your team are submitted then each HC has until a certain day, usually Thursday at midnight to submit their seeding vote. Then the coaches will meet on Sunday to fill out the bracket. Up until a few years ago all of this was done on one day with no computer voting everything was face to face. Team bios are due by Wednesday @ midnight. Seeds don't get revealed until late Friday afternoon.

They made the same change for the Willard district on the girls side too. It's getting sent to the regional @ Massillon Perry. New to 2017-2018: The D4 Willard district winner no longer is going to the bowling green regional as in years past BUT.... to the 68-year-old Canton Memorial Field House which is home to the McKinley basketball and volleyball teams. Located adjacent to Fawcett Stadium. The Willard winner will be matching up to play against the northeast district and or Cleveland area teams. Looks like the Spartans vs Cornerstone Christian match-up with Micheal Bothwell "a 2016 division 4 player of the year" will be coming to us in the regional final on 3/16. See you all on the tournament trail.

I don't proclaim to know specifics about the situation, but the sad reality in HS sports today is that for some kids and their parents, winning doesn't cure all ills. You can have all the Ws in the world and be incredibly successful, but if they're not "getting theirs," they still aren't happy.

Yes, 71-70. Given that CC has already defeated Carey, a different light has been shed on the N10 race. It is wide open. Especially since Mohawk upset Carey 59-55 on Carey's home floor tonight.

Upper runs Tiffin out of their own gym 67-35. TC is going to struggle to get more than 5 wins this year. In their defense, I think they have some injuries, but even so, they have to shoot better or else they'll struggle to win games as you said. Same problem that Willard has.

As I said before, nothing is official until the BOE takes action or makes a statement that he won't be offered a contract, but you're right - indications are someone else will be in charge next year.

I don't think the November BOE meeting has taken place yet. And there's a difference between being non-renewed and resigning.

Which I assume means Liberty Benton vs. Hillsdale at Tiffin Marion Harding would be a virtually identical travel distance for both schools.

It was not a good game by Pleasant. They did not win the game so much as Archbold lost it. Pleasant tried very hard to lose that game but were unable to do so. A passing team will kill them. Talk is we will be back at Donnell next Friday also. I'd agree with a lot of what you said. If Pleasant's coaches continue to be stubborn and not throw the ball every once in a while, then Eastwood will beat them handily. Also think you're on to something about the game being back @ Donnell. The only other site I could see would be Tiffin, but I think they might use that for Whitmer - Olentangy Liberty or Bellevue - Shelby.

Archbold has two losses.....by 1 point to Liberty-Benton in Week 2 and by 6 points in 4 OTs to Swanton in Week 10.

Increased competition with college games on Saturday. If a college game is at any time but Noon, it's going to affect the ability of sites to host based on their workers' willingness to be there. Why is the OHSAA making everyone play on Friday ?, I forgot the reasoning. By having all the games played on Friday, You would think they would have all of the game site assignments posted by Saturday night at the latest. If they're not gonna do anything on Saturdays, Then let's go back to they way it was.

All things being equal, I'd pick Carey because I think Wynford became one-dimensional once Smith got injured. However, it's hard to ignore the fact that Carey got outscored 74-13 the last two games and is limping into the playoffs.

A few thoughts from last night. It will be interesting to see if Liberty Benton is that good or if Wynford has dropped off. Wynford should win easily next week against Bucyrus. Colonel Crawford looks strong. Teglovic has really built an impressive program there and it will be interesting to see if they can take the next step and dethrone Wynford at the top. Good wins for Seneca East, Carey, and Mohawk. Also even though they aren't playing an N10 football schedule anymore, a really nice win for Ridgedale last night. I understand they only have like 15 or 16 players on their team. They earned a nice win against Ridgemont last night. They have a new coaching staff and apparently the new head coach actually addressed the crowd after the game last night and told them the win was for them. Way cool! Both, although I believe Wynford still wins the N10 because it's not that strong.

I believe they are doing that beginning next year. Galion plays Carey week 2 and Upper week 3 next year. Yes, that's correct. Not only that, I believe the league schedule is being re-arranged also.

On the upside, I heard Upper did fairly well vs. Madison. Any truth to that? Upper played Madison pretty evenly I thought. But then they turned around and lost the Jamboree game to Fostoria last night 28-0.

Looks like we can expect some cancelled jv games. Roster numbers as posted on N10 website: BC .......26 BU .......37 CA .......44 CC .......60 MOW ....41 SE .......43 UP .......33 WY ......47 BC and Upper. Bucyrus maybe. Freshman games will be the biggest casualty. You can knock one off that # for Upper because there's one kid that is injured and is out for the season, I believe. And I know of another that's also injured, but I don't know how long he's out for. For what it's worth, I can think of only maybe 1 season in the last 10 that Upper has played a full freshman schedule and that was the year they cancelled JV because of few sophomores and a boatload of freshmen. And yes, it would not surprise me if some JV games go bye-bye.

To compound what the N10 did to the MAL. It was worse what they did to the NCC. After Wynford, CC, BC, Bucyrus, Crestline and Riverdale voted in favor of admitting Upper and Galion to the NCC, before those 2 new schools played their first game in the NCC the 6 aforementioned schools changed their minds and left Upper, Galion, Ontario and Lucas high and dry in favor of the schools they pulled away from the MAL. No one "did" anything to anyone. The schools that formed the N10 exercised their right to change leagues under the rules the same as any school that has moved before or since then. You're statement is untrue. Upper and Galion were already playing in the NCC before the N10 was formed. Actually, Upper and Galion played 3 seasons in the NCC. More notice was given than required (a lot more than is being given in some of the movement we're seeing currently). Quit distorting the facts to make your point Fact Teller. I hardly ever agree with WF, but in this case, he's right. Upper and Galion were admitted and then the other schools broke away from them to do their own thing before fall sports were even completed. Why admit them if you're going to break off virtually right away? That's a crappy way of doing business. What other way is there to describe it?

Don't know if it's an other sport problem or if it's a kids not wanting to play for the coach problem. 207 boys and you can only get 26 ish boys out something stinks and it not sweaty jockstrap! 😎😎 I would agree with that ox. According to last years roster on the N10 website, Upper had 38 underclassmen (9-10-11) on the team. Add to that the incoming players who were in 8th grade last year and you have an alarming amount of attrition. Maybe some of those not attending the summer workouts will show up when it cools down a little. By the end of last season, Upper did not have enough kids to field separate middle school teams and the majority of the kids were 7th graders.

Soccer anyone? Add that to the impressive win record since Upper became the big fish in the little pond and the incredible amount of work it takes in football. There are still some kids there who show up, but it makes me sad to hear that they aren't getting it done in the numbers game. Don't know if it's an other sport problem or if it's a kids not wanting to play for the coach problem. 207 boys and you can only get 26 ish boys out something stinks and it not sweaty jockstrap! 😎😎 It's easy to point the finger at soccer, but kids now have more choices. In middle school, in the fall, boys can play football or run CC. Some of them probably didn't care much about either sport, but did one or the other simply for the sake of doing SOMETHING. They can still do those in HS, but they can also choose from golf and soccer.

Numbers are way down at Upper Sandusky. No freshman team and the last count I heard was 26 boys out for football total through all four grades. I think the #s are actually in the low 30s, but either way, it's not very much.

If you're talking about a drug/alcohol infraction 3 games is a pretty typical punishment for a first offense. At our school, a first offense includes mandatory counseling and suspension from 20% of your regular season contests, which obviously be two games for football.

From a fan's point of view......well, THIS fan anyway................I think it sucks! I loved going to a playoff game on Friday night, then getting to go to another game on Saturday night. Now it's "pick which game you wanna see" instead of "doubling your pleasure" and having two nights of high school ball. The season is short enough and I like to attend as many games as I can. For the most part, I agree with you because I am one of those fans who went to games both nights. The only positive I can see is that having games all on Friday could make it easier to choose a game to go to. Depending on how the divisions were split between the two nights, there were some years where there several good games to choose from on one night and a bunch of did on the other.

Buckeye Central - stays Div 4 Bucyrus - stays Div 3 Carey - stays Div 3 (barely) Colonel Crawford - stays Div 4 Mohawk - stays Div 4 Ridgedale - stays Div 4 Seneca East - drops to Div 4 Upper - drops to Div 3 (barely) Wynford - moves up to Div 3
